12-bar Solo in A using Major Pentatonic Licks
Hey Blues Fans!
Get ready to abuse those fingertips. Here is a 12-bar blues solo in the key of A that utilizes some nasty (but tasty) bends. These blues licks will definitely help build-up those callouses. This solo primarily uses licks from the A major pentatonic and E major pentatonic scales. You’ll hear hints of Albert King, Robin Trower, and BB King in these riffs. Below the video is the backing track that I used in the video. Once you master these licks, experiment and see what else you can come up with. Have fun.

Great site. I really learn a lot and have a lot of fun.
Can you tell me which lesson contained the earlier dixie dregs like riff please?
There’s a R&B solo in “Place in Line” by Deep Purple which I love, any chance of teaching us a few things from that?
Thanks again.
Another great lesson! Thank you for taking the time to teach us. Fantastic stuff!
Don’t cha jus’ love when the mighty ‘E’ scrunches off the neck? Very nice playing and easy to follow breakdowns…thanks for these post’s. I recently subscribed to another free bunch of lesson’s(remaining un-named) and quickly Un-subscribed when I heard some of the licks, tone and overall lack of taste…you have great touch and tone! Thanks man! I’ve already learned alot!

I was watching an interview with larry carlton, where he said, he always hung out with players better than himself and got “tips” on how to improve. I just want to say thats how I feel about your site.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comment. My “production facilities” are limited at best, but I try to improve the quality each lesson, include more tab and backing tracks.
