Blue Jean Blues Style Licks

Hey Blues Fans!
One of my favorite ZZ Top songs is Blue Jean Blues. This lesson shows three separate B minor blues licks in the style of Billy Gibbons. I’ve gotten requests to add tablature, so I placed the tab above each video. I hope this helps. FYI, the chords are Bm, Em and F#m. Have fun and feel free to leave a comment.

WOW. I love this song. Excellent Lesson.
    I want to learn this.

I can use a little help.

On the first lick is it better to use all down strokes. I can’t seem to get the same feeling you get.

    Thank you

Love this song. Billy Gibbons is by far one of my favorite guitarists. I’d like to see a few lessons on “A Fool For Your Stockings”. Another cool Gibbons tune. Again, thanks for all the cool lessons.

AWESOME lesson! I’ve tried for ages to get that down. I can’t get that sound, though. What effects are you using? Chorus? Thanks!

Good question. I forget. :) For that lesson I was using a Line6 POD 2.0 with some chorus. But I forget the exact settings.

Great lesson. Is there any way you could send me the entire tab? I love this song and haven’t been able to find a tab for it.

I found some Guitar Pro tab and converted it to PDF. This should help.

    Great stuff.

But should it be 1/4 bend at the 10th fret high E rather than the 11th fret as shown in the tab?

    Great stuff again

    Kz,
Nice catch. You are correct. I fixed the tab. For some reason, I had the number 11 stuck in my head while I was making this lesson.
