Joe Bonamassa Style Licks and Turnaround

Hey Blues Fans,
I’ll be up front with you – this is a teaser video to get you to visit my new website – BlueZtube.com. At blueZtube, you can upload all types of blues media, including video, audio and pictures. I hope that more people contribute blues lessons, wow us with their original blues songs, or post a picture of their 57 Les Paul Goldtop. Everything is free, so please visit and sign up for an account. Thanks, and now back to this lesson.

I heard Joe Bonamassa play a lick similar to this in his DVD, “Live From the Royal Albert Hall”. I like it because it’s not the typical pentatonic blues licks – it’s a little out of the box. After you view this bad boy, jump over to www.blueZtube.com to see the full breakdown.

As always, have fun.

I’m from the Netherlands, 62 years old and very happy with your lessons. To these lessons I have a second guitar life. At this moment I owe you about 20 Whoppers, but on your new site, I don’t see a possibility to donate them anymore. Good luck with your new site and thank you for the good work.

    Haywyre,
Checked out Blueztube.com. Nice idea ! Question on the Bonamassa lick- What chord would this work the best over ? C7, etc. Looks like a c minor pentatonic scale with added notes. Arpeggios ? What might be the thought process in building this lick ? Saw Bonamassa live at Penn’s Peak in PA. He is one of my favorites. Thanks.

That’s a good question. I wanted to start a Blues-centric site where other people could upload blues lessons, not just me. I’ve tried to get other people to post lessons on LBL, but no takers. I have a regular job and travel a lot, so I can’t devote as much time as I would like to creating the lessons. So, if anybody out their wants to cintribute lessons to Learn Blues Licks, send me a message and I’ll setup your account.

Love Joe B, and love the lick. Thanks haywyre. I visited BluezTube also. Why the extra site, easier to store and such?
