Mixing major and minor pentatonic licks
Hey blues fans,
Today’s lesson shows how one can mix licks from both the major and minor pentatonic (or blues scale). Since the fingering of these scales is basically the same, it is simple to go between the two scales and change the feel of feel of the solo. The licks are shown in E, but they can be moved up and down the neck so you can play them in different keys (except for lick 5, which is an E-only turnaround lick).
Take note of how lick 3 ends on the V note (B), which leads nicely in the B9 chord; the same with lick 4, which ends on the IV note (A) and leads nicely into the A9.
As always, have fun.

You absolutly rule. I have a lot of trouble going between the maj. and min. You have opened my eyes and really made it simple to understand and see. Thanks be to you.

That is where I have my problem. I play in one or the other. Gets boring. I like this lesson. It opens up so many more possibilities.
Thank you!
Very nice. Glad you’re back. Thanks man.
